President Guterres said in a speech today (25th) to a meeting in Cambodia to review the implementation of the anti-personnel landmine agreement that the threat of anti-personnel landmines still remains.

In particular, it noted that some parties are delaying the implementation of promises to resume the use of anti-personnel landmines or eliminate them.

164 countries, including Ukraine, are members of the anti-personnel landmine agreement signed in 1997, and the United States, South and North Korea, and Russia are non-affiliated countries.

The U.S. emphasizes that anti-personnel landmines supported by Ukraine are non-persistent landmines that only operate for a certain period of time and are not a threat to civilians after the war ends.
