A 20-year-old man who visited his ex-lover and attempted to murder him with a weapon was jailed for 12 years.

The Seoul Western District Court sentenced A, a man in his 20s who is suspected of visiting his ex-girlfriend and attempting to kill him, to 12 years in prison.

The court pointed out that the victim desperately stopped the attack and fortunately failed, but considering the tools of the crime and the degree of injury, he could have lost his life.

At the same time, the victim and his family explained that they did not forgive A and wanted severe punishment.

Mr. A is accused of attempting to kill his ex-girlfriend by wielding a weapon several times in May for notifying him of his breakup at her home in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul.
