The Korea Tourism Organization and the Korean Film Council have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with U.S.-based Marvel Studios to shoot scenes of a Hollywood blockbuster in and around Seoul.
The MOU was also signed by other related agencies including the Seoul city government Tuesday to ensure filming of the sequel to 'The Avengers' will go smoothly and that Korea will be portrayed positively.
According to Marvel Studios, the film maker, the shooting to be supported by the Seoul police agency and other relevant organizations will start on March 30 and wrap up on April 14, with the backdrop of the film featuring the metropolitan city's landmark locations.
The shooting of the superheros movie is expected to boost the Korean movie industry by an estimated 25.1 billion won ($23 million).
This will be the first time a Hollywood blockbuster is filmed in Korea.
