A group of more than 250 South Koreans on a Eurasia Express train arrived in Moscow, the last stop of the expedition's journey along the Siberian Railway, on Sunday.

During a welcoming ceremony in Moscow, South Korean Vice Foreign Minister Cho Tae-Yong said the Eurasia Express expedition has contributed to improving ties between South Korea and Russia. The two countries mark the 25th anniversary of diplomatic normalization this year.

The Korean expedition laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Russia capital.

The Eurasia Express program began on July 14 to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation from Japan's colonial rule. The expedition is scheduled to move on to Warsaw, Poland, and then to arrive in Berlin, its last destination, on August 2.
