The ranking represents a three-notch pullback from last month's, despite its six straight wins in 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
The Iranian outfit was listed as the best Asian football team landing in the 45th spot in the latest monthly rankings issued by the world's soccer governing body on Thursday. But it also plunged two spots in the latest FIFA edition.
Belgium remained the world's top-ranked team.
