In April, the first trial court sentenced a man who visited his wife and killed her with a weapon in violation of the separation measures.
The Uijeongbu District Court sentenced Lee, in his 50s, to 18 years in prison and ordered five years of probation.
Lee was arrested on April 23 for swinging a weapon at his wife at a multi-family house in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.

Lee had been reported several times of domestic violence, and separation measures had been taken to prevent him from approaching his wife since February.
However, six days before the crime, he was reported to have an argument with his wife, and on the same day, he went home to say he would make up with her and eventually killed her.
The court said Lee has repeatedly assaulted not only the victim but also his three sons, and the bereaved family is pleading for severe punishment.
At the same time, he explained the reason for the sentencing, saying that the accused should be quarantined for a long time to prevent recidivism and repent of mistakes.
After the trial, the bereaved family met with YTN reporters and cried that no punishment could relieve the family's pain and said they were sad that the sentence was less than expected.
The prosecution, which had asked for 25 years in prison, plans to carefully review the ruling and decide whether to appeal.
