Korean community leaders from all over the world are gathering in Jamsil, Seoul, to discuss ways to strengthen exchanges between the global Korean community and ties with their motherland.
It's the World Korean Association Congress that opened yesterday.
Various voices have been raised, including the opinion that the system needs to be improved to increase the turnout of overseas elections along with the current issues of each local Korean community.

Korean community leaders from all over the world came together to participate in the World Korean Association.
The World Congress of Korean Associations is being held to connect networks between Korean communities and strengthen ties with their home countries.
This year, more than 350 people representing Korean communities in 60 countries around the world participated in the World Korean Presidential Conference, which has been held every year since 2000.
The slogan of this year's competition is 'Proud compatriot, Korea to go together.'

In particular, the "Foreign Koreans Organization Support Project Briefing", which can be a window to provide practical information to the Korean community, was first attempted at this competition.
In addition, regular counselors who responded to various complaints raised by the Korean community also drew attention.
In addition, various opinions came out during the "Conversation with the Government" session to collect suggestions and opinions on civil service related to overseas Koreans, legal affairs, and military service.
