Consumer group "Ministry of Education Audit Doubts Willingness to Resolve Medical Disruption"

Consumer groups criticized the Ministry of Education's audit of Seoul National University Medical School after it was approved for a leave of absence, saying it made them doubt whether the medical crisis was resolved.

The National Council of Green Consumer Solidarity released data today (4th) and pointed out that sanctioning Seoul Medical University with an audit by the Ministry of Education on its decision to train high-quality medical staff will lead to a significant decline in the quality of Korean medical care.

He also said that while it is positive to establish a discussion body for estimating the supply and demand of medical personnel, he opposes the establishment of a special medical committee and the decision-making by the Health and Medical Policy Review Committee (Corrective Review).

They previously argued that social problems arose in the process of deciding to increase the number of medical schools by 2,000, and that granting the authority to make decisions could lead to major errors.

In response, the council urged the government to create an organization that can operate independently and make decisions, and the medical community to participate in the organization as soon as possible.
