Although the government should collect it, the total amount of national money that has not been collected due to the expiration of the prescription has reached 34 trillion won in the past five years.

According to the data received by Jung Sung-ho of the Democratic Party of Korea, a member of the National Assembly's Strategy and Finance Committee from the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, the total amount of unpaid deficits from 2019 to last year was 33.7 trillion won.

The amount of unpaid deficits refers to the amount that the government must collect, such as taxes, loan principal, interest, levies, fines, and fines, but it did not come in and was processed as a result.

In terms of the reasons for the deficit, the expiration of the prescription accounted for 37.5%, the most, followed by the inability to walk because the execution cost was higher than the amount seized.

Lawmaker Chung Sung-ho pointed out that it is important for the government to reduce the unpaid deficit as tax revenue shortfall is expected to reach 30 trillion won this year.
