2024.10.09 오전 02:13
Commerce ministers from the U.S. and China exchanged views on economic and trade issues, their respective interests, over the phone.

China's Commerce Department said yesterday (8th) that Commerce Minister Wang Wentao had raised "concerns about U.S. semiconductor policy with China and restrictions on China's connected cars."

"It is particularly necessary to clarify the boundaries of national security in the areas of economy and trade," Wang said. "This is beneficial to protect the safety and stability of global industrial networks and supply chains and to create a good policy environment for bilateral industry cooperation."

"China urges the U.S. to cancel sanctions on Chinese companies as soon as possible and improve the business environment of Chinese companies in the U.S.," it said.

China's commerce ministry described the call as part of a "mechanic communication" between the two countries' commerce authorities.

On the 23rd of last month, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced a regulation that prohibits the import and sale of vehicles equipped with specific software or hardware linked to China and Russia in vehicle connection systems or autonomous driving systems.

The U.S. Department of Commerce will finalize the final regulations after 30 days of collecting opinions.
