The Prime Minister's Office is said to have launched an investigation after receiving information on misconduct related to the Korean Sports Council.

The Office of the Public Service Officer of the Office for Government Policy Coordination under the Prime Minister's Office recently sent an investigator to the office of the Korean Sports Council in Songpa-gu, Seoul, to conduct an on-site investigation.

A government official explained that the information on inappropriate business handling by the Korea Sports Council has been received and is under inspection.

The Office of the Public Service Officer is a place that manages the service discipline of government agencies, public institutions, and affiliated organizations, and can request an investigative agency to investigate according to the results of the investigation.

Earlier, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested a public interest audit from the Board of Audit and Inspection, citing the issue of the Korea Sports Association's rush of work and lax use of the budget.
