Woori Financial Group Chairman Lim Jong-ryong will appear as a witness at the National Assembly's parliamentary audit for the first time as the chairman of the four major financial groups.

It is expected to express its position in public for the first time on how a large amount of unfair loans were made to former chairman Sohn Tae-seung's relatives.

Lim Jong-ryong, chairman of Woori Financial Group, who served as head of the Cabinet Office and chairman of the Financial Services Commission, will stand on the witness stand of the parliamentary inspection of the National Policy Committee this year.

He is the first chairman of four major financial groups.

Chairman Lim is said to have expressed his position not to avoid attending the National Assembly after adopting a witness.

Lawmakers from the ruling and opposition parties are expected to ask a relative of Sohn Tae-seung about how the 61.6 billion won loan was executed.

The Financial Supervisory Service's survey revealed that 35 billion won out of 61.6 billion won was fraudulent loans.

Suspicion is also subject to omission of reporting to the Financial Supervisory Service even after conducting its own audit.

In addition, it is inevitable to discuss the embezzlement accident of 10 billion won at Woori Bank's Gimhae branch in June this year.

There is criticism of poor internal control in that another large embezzlement occurred two years after 70 billion embezzlement occurred two years ago.
