Harris 46% vs Trump 43%...a close race within a margin of error

U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris' approval rating for Vice President is a slim 3 percentage point advantage over Republican candidate former President Donald Trump.

According to Reuters on the 8th, Reuters and pollster Ipsos conducted an online poll of 1,272 U.S. adults, including 1,076 registered voters, from the 4th to the 7th, and when asked "Which of the two candidates would you vote for if the presidential election were held today," 46% of registered voters said Vice President Harris and 43% said former President Trump.

This is within ±3 percentage points of error, with 47% of registered voters picking Harris as vice president and 40% picking former President Trump in the same poll from the 20th to the 23rd of last month.

Recently, Vice President Harris has a slight lead in the United States, but polls show that the gap between the two candidates is within the margin of error.

In the poll, respondents cited the economy, particularly the cost of living, as the biggest problem facing the United States.

Among registered voters, there were more responses that former President Trump had better plans, approaches and policies than Vice President Harris on economic issues.

When asked which candidate has better plans, approaches and policies in terms of cost of living, 44% picked former President Trump and 38% picked Vice President Harris.

Reuters also analyzed that widespread concerns about immigration, the highest level in a century in the United States, also appear to be working in Trump's favor.

In terms of trust in mental sharpness, Vice President Harris is ahead of former President Trump.

Fifty-five percent of respondents agreed that Harris was "mentally keen and capable of dealing with difficult situations," with 46 percent saying they agreed when asked the same question about former President Trump.
