The prosecution judged that Kim Byung-ki of the Democratic Party of Korea, who was accused of publishing distorted opinion polls ahead of the general election in April, was not charged.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office found Kim, who was accused of making false comments and publicizing false information under the Public Official Election Act, not guilty and returned the case record to the police at the end of last month.

Earlier in March, Representative Kim claimed that he was ahead of the candidate for the People's Power in a survey of approval ratings for Dongjak-gap National Assembly candidate in Seoul, citing a poll report.

At that time, candidate Jang Jin-young of the People's Power filed a complaint against Representative Kim, saying that he reported the name as if it were specific even though the candidate's name was not in the poll questions.
