A middle school student in Busan who suffered 40cm lacerations from his back to his pelvis was transferred to Daejeon and underwent emergency surgery in need of emergency surgery.

On the 6th, A was brushing his teeth in the bathroom of his house in Busan when the sink was damaged and fell, cutting about 40cm from his left back to his pelvis into a sharp sink structure.

119 paramedics who were dispatched to the scene confirmed that the wound was too large and deep and that emergency surgery was necessary due to a large amount of bleeding.

As a result, we visited hospitals in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam that could perform emergency surgery, but failed.

The fire authorities, who were calling hospitals nationwide, were informed that surgery was possible at Daejeon Konyang University Hospital.

A, who arrived at the hospital about 3 hours away from Busan, began surgery at around 5:40 p.m. and underwent emergency surgery for about 2 hours.

The major surgery to seal the skin, subcutaneous fat, and muscles of the ruptured back one by one was successful, and is currently undergoing treatment such as antibiotics, pain control, and surgical site dressing without any complications.

Kim Young-jin, a professor of cardiothoracic surgery at Konyang University Hospital who conducted the operation, said, "If we didn't operate immediately, the condition could have worsened due to necrosis of the damaged area as well as complications such as sepsis caused by infection, but I'm glad the operation went well."
