Ministry of Employment and Labor's National Audit Clashes Kim Moon-soo's 'Nationality of the Japanese Era' Remarks

The parliamentary inspection of the Ministry of Employment and Labor by the National Assembly's Environment and Labor Committee was disrupted due to a series of verbal attacks between the ruling and opposition parties over the remarks of Minister Kim Moon-soo, who claimed that the nationality of the ancestors of Japanese colonial era was Japan.

Opposition lawmakers demanded an apology from Minister Kim before the audit, but Minister Kim explained that it was a historical record that the nationality was Japan when looking at the passport issued Japanese colonial era, and the opposition party demanded that he leave, calling it an anti-constitutional statement.

In response, ruling party lawmakers insisted that the parliamentary audit should proceed according to the audit, saying that it is an unfair witch hunt to drive them to the pro-Japanese group because they do not like the claim, but Ahn Ho-young, chairman of the labor committee of the Democratic Party, ordered Minister Kim to leave.
