Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba has offered tributes to Yasukuni shrine, which houses Class A war criminals from the Pacific War.

Prime Minister Ishiba, who took office on the 1st, donated a tribute called Masakaki under the name of Shigeru Ishiba, the Prime Minister of the Cabinet, to mark the autumn pre-deposit system starting today.

Earlier on the 11th, Prime Minister Ishiba reportedly decided to suspend visits to the Yasukuni Shrine during the Yushikuni Festival.

As a result, Prime Minister Ishiba is expected to take the same steps as former Prime Minister Fumio Kishida when it comes to Yasukuni shrine.

During his three years in office, former Prime Minister Kishida did not visit Yasukuni shrine, only offering tributes.
