The [Pony Chung Innovation Award] was created to honor the spirit of challenge of Chung Se-young, former honorary chairman of HDC Group, who founded Hyundai Motor.

Writer Han Kang was selected as this year's winner on the 19th of last month, before winning the Nobel Prize for Literature.

The Ponyjeong Foundation said, "We have elevated the status of Korean literature by captivating domestic and foreign readers with a sense of subjectivity and expressiveness that deeply views the inside of humans."
