CCTV footage of the accident was released after a security guard in his 70s was crushed to death by an iron school gate at a high school in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province, and four people, including the principal and faculty, were handed over to the prosecution on charges of professional negligence.

The accident happened around 6 a.m. on June 24. According to the school's policy to open the playground for residents at this time every day, the security guard was found to have been injured while opening the main gate.

The police handed over four people, including the principal and faculty, to the prosecution on the 21st on charges of professional negligence, saying that safety management was not properly managed, but the school strongly protested, saying, "There were people who grabbed the door and shook it just before the accident."

CCTV footage released by MBC on the 22nd showed a resident waving an iron door to enter the school playground before the accident. In particular, after the resident shook, the iron door seemed to be slightly lowered.

Later, a security guard in his 70s appeared and opened the school's iron door, and one iron door did not fold even after pushing it hard several times.

As soon as the guard looked at the door and tried to push it again, the 160-kg iron door collapsed and hit the guard.

The accident was estimated to have occurred when a device to fix the iron door to the pillar was missing. It is known that the iron gate has never been repaired or inspected since it was installed with the opening of the school in 1999.

"If the local residents hadn't shaken it, it wouldn't have been damaged," the principal said. "The door was damaged because they gave physical external pressure and force."

Earlier, the police excluded residents from criminal punishment, saying, "The residents did not do it because they predicted an accident and were not obligated to do all their care."
