U.S. Secretary of State Tony Blinken, who is traveling to the Middle East to end the war in Gaza, has been evacuated after receiving an air raid warning in Israel, U.S. media reported.

In Tel Aviv, where Blinken was staying on the 23rd local time, air raid warnings were raised throughout the city, and smoke was observed over the hotel where Blinken stayed when a missile caught in an air defense system exploded.

As a result, a senior State Department official said Blinken was evacuated to the air raid shelter.

The missile, which exploded over Tel Aviv at the time, appears to have been fired by Lebanon's armed faction Hezbollah.

Secretary Blinken has been traveling to the Middle East since the 21st to discuss pending issues such as the end of the Gaza war and the release of hostages.

Following Israel, Blinken visited Saudi Arabia to discuss the end of the war in Gaza and ways to rebuild it with the crown prince Muhammad bin Salman.
