Choi Sang-mok "Didn't Meet Growth Expectations"...a response instruction

2024.10.24 오후 01:52
Regarding the nation's economic growth rate of only 0.1% in the third quarter, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance Choi Sang-mok ordered the government to come up with a response direction, saying that the growth intensity did not meet expectations.

Deputy Prime Minister Choi Sang-mok, who visited the U.S. to attend a meeting of finance ministers from 20 major countries, held a first-level executive meeting through video connection and ordered it.

Choi said the third-quarter growth breaking data showed a recovery in domestic demand, mainly on facility investment and consumption, but growth intensity fell short of expectations as imports rose and exports adjusted amid sluggish construction.

Deputy Prime Minister Choi ordered the government to accelerate the implementation of domestic and public livelihood measures announced so far as economic uncertainty has grown, closely inspect internal and external conditions such as the U.S. presidential election, major economies, and the situation in the Middle East, and come up with countermeasures.
