The National Assembly's Science, Technology, Information, Broadcasting and Communications Committee has decided to demand an audit of Lee Jin-sook, chairman of the Korea Communications Commission, for alleged political neutrality violations led by opposition parties, including the Democratic Party of Korea.

Opposition lawmakers demanded an audit, saying that Chairman Lee, whose duties have been suspended due to the passage of the National Assembly's impeachment bill, made remarks criticizing the opposition on a conservative YouTube channel, a violation of the government employees' political neutrality obligations.

The ruling party lawmakers opposed the ruling party's impeachment trial, saying it was an abuse of authority to issue a request for an audit, but Choi Min-hee, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, voted on the agenda and passed it led by the majority opposition party.
