British Military Expert "Helps North Korean Troops in Number to Retake Lusk"

Analysts have suggested that the dispatch of North Korean troops could help Russia recapture the western Kursk region lost to Ukraine in numbers.

The British daily Financial Times reported in a related article on the 24th local time.

The Ukrainian military intelligence bureau claimed that 12,000 North Korean soldiers were already in Russia, and the first Russian-trained North Korean troops were deployed to Kursk province.

While some experts have analyzed that this size of troops is not enough to change the tide, Jack Watling, a senior researcher at the Royal Joint Military Research Institute, pointed out that North Korea could bring more problems to Ukraine by replenishing Russian troops in numbers.

Watling, a senior researcher, said of the North Korean military, "It may have had quite good cohesion and fraud," adding, "It is quite a low standard that Russia is better than what it currently has."

He also predicted that Russia could face command and control problems, but its experience in leading operations with government forces, Iran-backed forces and militias in the Syrian civil war would be utilized.

The newspaper said North Korea is sending troops amid signs that Russia is struggling to replenish its troops due to massive casualties in Ukraine.

At the same time, it was analyzed that Russia could compensate North Korea with financial aid or weapons cooperation.

Alexander Gabuev, director of the Carnegie Russia Eurasia Center in Berlin, Germany, pointed out that Russia could provide much-needed finance, food and fuel to North Korea, or compensate it with advanced weapons design transfers and missile technology.
