"The 2nd anniversary of the Itaewon disaster"...March to Seoul Plaza

The 10.29 Itaewon Victims' Association and the Citizens' Countermeasures Conference will hold a civic memorial contest today (26th) afternoon ahead of the second anniversary of the disaster.


10.29 The Itaewon Victims' Association and others first announced that a prayer meeting of four major groups will be held in front of Exit 1 of Itaewon Station at 1:59 p.m. today to commemorate the 159 victims.

The bereaved families and citizens will then march from Itaewon Station to Seoul Plaza through the presidential office and Seoul Station, and begin a full-fledged memorial contest at 6:34.

Starting with the personnel appointments of the bereaved family council, the April 16 Family Council, the chairman of the 10.29 Itaewon Special Investigation Committee, and the ruling and opposition parties' floor and standing representatives will deliver commemorative speeches, and a performance will be held to express their condolences, including singer Harim.

Prior to this, apart from the memorial contest, a booth will be set up at Seoul Plaza on the theme of memorial and memory of the Itaewon disaster, and the 10.29 Itaewon disaster special investigation committee will guide witnesses and others on how to apply for fact-finding at the time of the disaster.
