The People's Power urged the early construction of the 120-kilometer unopened section of the East-West Expressway from Jecheon, North Chungcheong Province, to Samcheok, Gangwon Province, which is currently in the preliminary feasibility study stage.
In a related briefing held on the stairs in front of the National Assembly headquarters, Han Dong-hoon stressed the importance of bridging the "regional gap" by completing the East-West Expressway, targeting the Democratic Party of Korea's "National Support Act of 250,000 Won."
Floor leader Choo Kyung-ho also said that if the party leader and floor leader join forces, their dreams will surely come true, and that they will unite to complete the East-West Expressway.
Gangwon Province Governor Kim Jin-tae and hundreds of local residents participated in the event, along with lawmakers from the ruling party, including Lee Chul-kyu, Yoo Sang-beom and Um Tae-young.
