The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced today (31st) that it has been designated as a pandemic preparation and response cooperation center by the World Health Organization and the WHO.
The WHO Cooperation Center refers to a specialized organization for each field selected by the WHO to carry out international health projects.
It is the second time that the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has been designated as a WHO cooperation center after the field of antibiotic resistance in March 2021.
In the future, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention plans to share its experience and expertise in responding to infectious diseases with countries in the Western Pacific region and develop guidelines for responding to infectious diseases.
