Lee Jae-myung, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, said, "The public will judge whether it is a great thing from the public's perspective," regarding the phone call between President Yoon Suk Yeol and Myung Tae-kyun, which is suspected of intervening in the nomination.
Lee met with reporters after visiting the Incheon military unit and said, "On the day of the recorded call, President Yoon was elected and the president could express his opinion as a "No. 1 member."
Earlier, CEO Lee said he had not yet seen or heard the recording in person during his visit to Ganghwa-gun, Incheon, but pointed out that he thought it was a very serious situation that could not have been heard.
He added that he would talk about other details after more careful discussions in the party.
When asked if he thought the transcript would be released and public opinion on the president's impeachment would arise, Lee replied, "Reporters should think about it."
