Prosecutors investigating suspicions about former President Moon Jae In's wife Kim Jung-sook's overseas trip have secured a real "Chanelle jacket" worn by Kim during her trip to France.
The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office received a jacket that Mrs. Kim had worn at Chanel headquarters in Paris, France, and requested an appraisal from the Digital Forensics Center of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office.
Prosecutors are said to verify whether Kim returned the jacket she wore and whether it was different from the jacket donated by Chanel to the National Hangeul Museum.
Earlier, a ruling party council member filed a complaint with the prosecution in January, claiming that Kim did not return the Korean language after borrowing a Chanel jacket made of motifs during her trip to France in 2018.
The prosecution is continuing its investigation into officials such as Kim Il-hwan, the head of the National Hangeul Museum, and Kim, a designer belonging to Chanel, who announced his intention to donate Chanel jackets to the Korean government.
