Myung Tae-kyun is also involved in allegations that he provided several polls to President Yoon Suk Yeol, as well as money transactions with former lawmaker Kim Young-sun.
Amid a series of related accusations, attention is being paid to whether the prosecution and the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit will launch a full-fledged investigation.

Apart from the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office's investigation into the alleged money transaction between Myung Tae-kyun and former lawmaker Kim Young-sun, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office has received and reviewed complaints from civic groups over the so-called "public opinion investigation allegations."The accuser
claimed that Myung had manipulated or distorted the polls for President Yoon Suk Yeol's election in the face of the presidential election.
He also raised suspicions that he was promised Kim's nomination in exchange for providing free public opinion polls to President Yoon, which cost more than 370 million won in total, 80 times before the presidential election.
In response, Presidential Chief of Staff Chung Jin-seok strongly refuted the National Assembly's parliamentary audit, saying, "President Yoon has not engaged in illegal activities such as intervention in nominations or interference in elections before and after his inauguration."
Regarding the so-called "Myeong Tae-kyun Transcript," the ruling party also argued that President Yoon, who was elected at the time, simply delivered his opinion on the nomination to the nomination management committee does not constitute a violation of the election law.
As the controversy grows, opposition parties say the investigation should be expanded, such as establishing a special investigation headquarters or transferring related cases to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office.
However, Justice Minister Park Sung-jae recently dismissed the possibility of investigating all suspicions related to Myung at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, saying, "The Changwon District Prosecutors' Office is working hard."
In the meantime, the High-ranking Civil Servants Crime Investigation Agency also launched a related investigation after receiving a complaint about allegations of public opinion polls and money transactions.
An official from the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit said they are currently monitoring the situation as they are conducting a legal review.
However, considering the manpower conditions, it does not seem easy to speed up the investigation immediately, as the 4th investigation department, which has been allocated the case, is even investigating the case of Chae Sang-byung.
