An active military officer who killed a female military officer who was working with him, damaged the body, and dumped it in the Bukhangang River in Hwacheon-gun, Gangwon-do, has been arrested.

The Chuncheon District Court issued an arrest warrant for a unit officer identified only by his surname Yang, a member of the Ministry of National Defense, who is accused of murder, body damage, and abandonment, for reasons such as fear of escape.

Yang, who is scheduled to be promoted to lieutenant colonel, is accused of strangling a 33-year-old civilian A, who worked in the same unit, in his vehicle on the 25th of last month, damaging the body, and dumping it around the Bukhangang River in Hwacheon, Gangwon Province, the next day.

In a police investigation, Yang stated that he accidentally killed A during an argument, and the police are considering holding a committee to disclose his or her identity.
