Yongin Public Bus Terminal has completed reconstruction work and has started temporary operation.
Yongin City carried out a reconstruction project in August 2022 to increase safety and convenience when the public bus terminal, which was built in 1994, received an E grade in the 2015 precision safety diagnosis.
The new public bus terminal has a total floor area of 2,800 square meters on the first basement floor and the second floor above the ground at a cost of 17.3 billion won. It has commercial facilities, waiting rooms, and city public relations centers along with rest facilities and accommodations for transportation workers.
The new terminal will be completed in December, and the city plans to entrust the operation and management of the terminal to the private sector and select the final operator after an open recruitment and deliberation committee.
Yongin City Mayor Lee Sang-il said, "The Yongin Public Bus Terminal, which has been renovated in a pleasant and new way, will play a role in improving citizens' transportation convenience, revitalizing the local economy, and providing citizens with a more comfortable living space," adding, "If there is a lack of facilities ahead of completion, citizens should actively present their opinions."
