Amid a surge in the number of self-employed people closing their stores in the aftermath of the economic recession, demolition companies are found to be enjoying a "sparkling special" that can't help but laugh.
[Fact-tracking] According to the report, 986,000 self-employed people reported closure last year, the highest number since 2006 when related statistics were compiled.
Naturally, the number of demolition work has increased, but internal competition in the demolition industry is also intensifying, with the number of newly registered construction waste disposal companies increasing by more than 64% from a year ago from January to August.
Demolition company officials said that self-employed people are in a crisis, with not a few people unable to close their stores due to the cost of closing their businesses.
The YTN investigative report program [Fact Tracking], which airs tonight (20th), sheds light on the reality of Korea's self-employed businesses, which are on the brink of a cliff, and seeks solutions through the demolition site.
