US, UK, F, Germany "concerns about plan to operate Iranian centrifuges"

2024.11.24 AM 05:49
The United States, Britain, France and Germany have expressed "serious concern" over Iran's announcement to operate new centrifuges in protest of a resolution by the International Atomic Energy Agency and the IAEA to call for cooperation in nuclear inspections.

"Instead of cooperating with the resolution, Iran has announced that it will respond by expanding its nuclear program further in an unreliable way," the four countries, including the United States, said in a joint statement.

"Iran is not providing the information and cooperation necessary to clarify long-standing unresolved issues regarding undeclared nuclear materials found in a number of locations," he said.

Earlier on the 21st, the IAEA board urged Iran to cooperate in nuclear inspections under the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty and demanded answers about the detection of uranium particles in facilities that were not reported as nuclear facilities.

"If the IAEA is abused and confrontational measures for political purposes, we will respond to each other," Iran's Foreign Ministry said. "The chairman of Iran's Atomic Energy Commission has issued guidelines to start operating centrifuges."
