Woo Jong-soo, head of the National Police Agency's National Investigation Division, said today (25th) that he feels sorry about YTN's report that a single mother in her 30s died of illegal collection and will strengthen her response to the debt collection case.
Director Woo said in a press conference today that he held a video conference on the 14th and ordered future debt collection cases to be quickly received and distributed in consideration of the seriousness of the issue.
He also explained that he will soon issue additional instructions on measures to protect victims of debt collection, such as personal protection measures, and conduct related education.
Earlier, on September 9th, before A died, an acquaintance informed the police intelligence officer of the damage, but the police only launched a formal investigation on the 25th of last month, 46 days later, causing controversy over the belated investigation.
