People's Power virtually rejected Democratic Party Chairman Lee Jae-myung's proposal for a public debate, which suggested the possibility of a compromise on the amendment to the commercial law, saying that it is highly likely to end up as a ritual event as it is at odds with the party's theory.
Spokesman Kim Hye-ran mentioned the four-character idiom "Yangdu-gook," which means to sell dog meat with the head of a sheep, in the commentary and pointed out how long he is trying to mock the people with such an operation.
He then urged the Democratic Party to face the serious economic reality and reconsider the handling of the amendment to the commercial law with a sincere attitude, saying that damage to minority shareholders should be prevented, but corporate competitiveness should not be undermined.
