[Green] Rural Development Administration develops programs linked to agricultural experience activities and 'Always Spring School'

The Rural Development Administration said it is working with the Ministry of Education to develop and apply a quality agricultural experience program that meets the "all spring school" policy.

In this regard, Kwon Jae-han, head of the Rural Development Administration, and Kim Young-gon, assistant secretary of education, visited Namil Elementary School in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province on the 28th to observe "Expressing My Emotions with Pets," a program developed by the National Institute of Horticultural Science by the Rural Development Administration, focusing on improving student empathy and consideration.

Neulbom School is a comprehensive educational program that helps students grow and develop by linking various educational resources of schools and local communities in addition to regular classes in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.

The Rural Development Administration developed a program that linked agricultural experience activities to Neulbom School and collaborated with the Chungnam Office of Education, and then piloted it at one elementary school in Cheonan from the second semester of last year, and the satisfaction of the students participating in the program was high.

The number of places that run agricultural experience-based always spring school programs increased from one in Chungnam last year to 51 in six cities including Gyeonggi and Seoul this year, and will be expanded to 17 next year, the Agricultural Development Administration added.

The Rural Development Administration also held the "2024 Always Spring Experience Program Competition" on November 13 to discover and spread agricultural experience programs at all spring schools and selected eight excellent programs.

Kwon Jae-han, head of the Rural Development Administration, said, "I think it is very meaningful because the agricultural and rural programs are always receiving positive responses from students participating in spring schools."

Deputy Minister of Education Kim Young-gon said, "I would like to thank the Rural Development Administration and the school for preparing useful programs so that students can learn about rural areas and agriculture and even learn the importance of nature."
