Earlier, President Yoon Suk Yeol called for proactive measures to boost domestic consumption and consumption at a meeting of senior secretaries, and emphasized the importance of consumer sentiment at the subsequent discussion on people's livelihoods.
In line with this, the presidential office and the government are preparing measures to boost consumption during the year-end and New Year holidays.
The plan is to provide additional tax benefits for the increase in consumption for a certain period of time, and it is highly likely to raise the income deduction rate significantly as the amount of expenditure has increased from a year ago.

A senior presidential office official said he is planning to announce measures to boost consumption within this month, adding that details will be included before the comprehensive polarization measures to be announced at the beginning of the year.
In addition, financial support plans will be prepared within this year for self-employed people who faithfully repay loan interest.
The government is also considering ways to boost domestic demand by boosting tourism, taking into account growing concerns over an economic slowdown.
