The National Assembly held a plenary session and passed a resolution calling for the lifting of the emergency martial law.
The resolution calling for the lifting of the emergency martial law was approved by 190 present and 190 in favor of the plenary session.
Chairman Woo Won-sik said that the president should lift the emergency decree immediately following the National Assembly's resolution, and that the declaration of the emergency decree was invalid.
The military and police in the National Assembly's precincts then demanded that they leave the National Assembly immediately, stressing that the people are relieved and that the National Assembly will protect democracy with the people.
Article 77 (5) of the Constitution states that when the National Assembly demands the lifting of martial law with the approval of a majority of the registered members, the President must lift it.
