2024.12.12 PM 03:11
The National Police Agency's National Investigation Headquarters' special investigation team has launched an additional search and seizure to secure a server containing security phones and related communication details used by former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun during martial law.

The police special investigation team said it has been searching the Ministry of National Defense and the Capital Defense Command since this afternoon (12th).

The raid is the first joint investigation launched by the Joint Investigation Headquarters, which is joined by the police, high-ranking government officials' crime investigation office, and the Ministry of National Defense's investigation headquarters.

Earlier, on the 8th, the special forces raided former Minister Kim's office, diplomatic missions, and home, and belatedly learned that the security phone existed during the execution of the warrant and asked the Ministry of National Defense to submit it arbitrarily, but it was rejected.

Since then, additional search warrants have been issued to secure security phones and data has been secured.
