While cold wave warnings in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi-do, Cheorwon, Gangwon-do, and Yanggu have been strengthened with cold wave warnings, strong cold waves below -15 degrees Celsius are expected to come to the region overnight.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said that Yeoncheon, Cheorwon, and Yanggu, where cold wave warnings were issued, are expected to have a strong cold wave for more than two days as the minimum temperature fell below minus 15 degrees Celsius, and asked people to pay attention to cold wave damage such as freezing accidents and health care.

In addition, cold wave warnings are still being issued in northeastern Gyeonggi Province, Gangwon Province, and inland Chungcheongbuk-do Province, where cold waves below minus 12 degrees Celsius are expected.

There has been no special cold wave warning in Seoul and other regions, but cold weather continues, with the cold weather below minus 5 degrees Celsius, and the wind chill temperature drops significantly to around minus 10 degrees Celsius.

The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) said cold air is expected to fall regularly this week and cold waves are expected to repeat their strength and weakness, emphasizing the need to continuously prepare for the cold, such as water meters and boilers, centering on the special report area.
