The appointment of a new emergency committee chairman to lead the ruling party amid impeachment is expected to be outlined as early as the 24th.
While acting party leader Kwon Sung-dong is still reticent about the specific selection, there are still calls for acting party leader Kwon to serve as the chairman of the emergency committee.

It has been a week since Han Dong-hoon resigned as the head of the People's Power Party.
Kwon Sung-dong, the acting leader and floor leader of the party, who has the authority to nominate the emergency committee chairman, explained that he is considering several candidates, saying he will decide by early this week and report them at the general meeting of lawmakers.

Earlier, in the discussions by players from the first-term to the senior members of the party, the main opinion was that the floor leaders should take charge of the emergency committee and go to a "two-top system" with the floor leader.
Kwon Young-se and Na Kyung-won, the five-term members of the party, were mentioned as strong candidates, and the criticism that they are "relatively friendly" or "strong in their own color" are considered concerns.
Acting Kwon still left open the possibility of a "one-top system" in which he also serves as chairman of the emergency committee.

Individually, the floor leadership explains that there is a lot of support for the "one-top system," but the chairman of the emergency committee for personnel outside the party and outside the party still seems to be a living card.
Some have raised the opinion that former lawmaker Yoo Seung Min, who has been at odds with President Yoon Suk Yeol, will take the mound.
[Yoo Seung Min / Member for the Power of the People (CBS Radio 'Lee Cheol-hee's Weekend News Show' on the 21st): I really want to change the power of the people, and I have a strong desire to change this party..]
However, many in and out of the party say that it is difficult to choose former lawmaker Yoo, a reformist, as the chairman of the emergency committee at a time when the majority of the party voted against impeachment.
The ruling party is considering nominating a chairman of the emergency committee after holding a general meeting of lawmakers on the 24th, and some point out that it is difficult to avoid criticism that it is "road-friendly" if a senior member of the party takes the helm.
