The People's Power urged the Democratic Party of Korea to immediately withdraw the recommendation of two constitutional judges, Ma Eun-hyuk and Chung Gye-seon, and immediately stop the selection process.
Members of the Constitutional Court's special committee on personnel hearings held a press conference and claimed that the Democratic Party recommended candidates who were unable to expect political neutrality and independence and even exposed their personal ideology or political orientation in the ruling.
They pointed out that Ma and Chung have a strong political bias, and that it is difficult to expect fairness and independence in the hearing and judgment of the impeachment trial of President Yoon Suk Yeol.
The National Assembly held confirmation hearings for candidates Ma Eun-hyuk and Chung Gye-seon, but the people's power to stick to the position that Acting President Han Deok-soo should not appoint a constitutional judge was absent from the hearing.
