Will a white Christmas come this year?
In the last 10 years, there have been only two Christmases with white snow in Seoul.
Reporter Jung Hye-yoon reports on what this year will be like when cold waves and snow are repeated often.

Last year, Christmas, Seoul, and other parts of the country were covered with white snow.
White Christmas is here.
White Christmas refers to a day when snow falls and accumulates enough to record snowfall on Christmas Day,
Since 1991, there have been 11 snowy days on Christmas Day in Seoul, and only 7 of them have recorded snowfall.
In particular, there have been only two times in the last decade, 2015 and last year.
What will this winter be like when snow is exceptionally frequent?
Snow is falling sporadically in the cold spell of minus 10 degrees Celsius ahead of Christmas, but
The day of Christmas is mostly sunny until day.
Therefore, it seems difficult to celebrate a white Christmas nationwide like last year.
However, a weak trough is expected to pass north of Korea from late at night on Christmas Day.
There is a possibility that a belated 'white Christmas' will come around the northern part of the Korean Peninsula such as the
metropolitan area, Gangwon Province, and Chungcheong Province.

We also need to prepare for the cold that lasts until Christmas Eve and Christmas morning.
The temperature in Seoul will be around minus 5 degrees Celsius, the wind chill will be close to minus 10 degrees Celsius, and the wind chill will plunge to minus 15 degrees Celsius in Gyeonggi Province and inland Gangwon Province.
The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) urged people to pay attention to temperature changes caused by the cold at the end of the year and New Year, saying that a strong cold spell will fall south for the time being, and cold weather and coastal snow will come regularly.
