Land, Infrastructure and Transport Minister Park Sang-woo said he could not agree on the December 3 emergency martial law incident, thinking it was a wrong move.
Minister Park attended the plenary session of the National Assembly's Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee and said, "As a member of the State Council, I am sorry that the situation has reached the current situation."
He then said he felt responsible and would not dwell on his position, adding that he was ready to act appropriately at any time.
When asked if he was ordered to take measures related to martial law at the time, he said he ordered his employees to cooperate with related business associations to ensure that public transportation such as buses and taxis operate normally.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport also reported to the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee the "type of lease fraud and the scale of damage," and said that about 25,000 people were determined to be victims of lease fraud from June last year to last month, and a total of 970 billion won was provided to 22,000 people.
In addition, about 60% of charter fraud cases occurred in the Seoul metropolitan area, and many of the victims were in their 20s and 30s.
Most of the damage was less than 300 million won in deposit, and the average amount of damage per person was about 130 million won.
