The ruling and opposition parties argued at a plenary session of the National Assembly's Science, Technology, Information, Broadcasting and Communications Committee over broadcaster Kim Eo-jun's claim that there was a plan to kill former representative Han Dong-hoon of the People's Power at the time of the emergency martial law.
The ruling party criticized Kim's alleged assassination report as a conspiracy theory that misled the public with interpretations and exaggerated stories in favor of certain forces, pointing out that Kim's alleged assassination report was unverified and disclosed in over-defense.
The opposition party countered that Kim could not be blamed, citing media reports that the word "killing" was written in the notebook of former intelligence commander Roh Sang-won.
