As the prime minister was impeached following the president, the so-called "acting system" began for the first time in constitutional history.

Amid the aftermath of the civil war, the promulgation of the independent counsel law demanded by the opposition party and the appointment of a constitutional judge are likely to determine the fate of the acting Choi Sang-mok system.

I'm reporter Lee Jong-gu.

[Won-Sik Woo / Speaker of the National Assembly (last 14th): I declare that the impeachment motion of the presidential Yoon Suk Yeol has been passed]

[Won-Sik Woo / Speaker of the National Assembly (Executive): The impeachment motion against Prime Minister Han Deok-soo. I will vote with the approval of a majority of the registered members....]

National Assembly's back-to-back impeachment of an unprecedented president and acting president.

State Council members protested collectively, saying that even the prime minister should not be impeached.

Choi Sang-mok / Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs (Executive): The impeachment of the acting president is nothing short of the impeachment of the entire cabinet.]

Despite the blame for failing to prevent emergency martial law, some ministers were stiff in the National Assembly.

[Lee Hoon-ki / Minjoo Party member (Executive): State council members, do you think the people trust you?]

[Yoo Sang-im / Minister of Science and ICT: Representative Lee Hoon-ki, do you think the public trusts Representative Lee Hoon-ki?]

Prime Minister Han Deok-soo left saying that the government would not falter,

[Han Deok-soo / Prime Minister (Executive): I am suspended from my duties, but I believe the South Korean government will work solidly.]

The next ranking, Deputy Prime Minister for Economy Choi Sang-mok, served as acting president.

Opposition parties are saying without hesitation that if acting Choi Sang-mok refuses to appoint a constitutional judge who passed the National Assembly, he should be impeached.

[Park Chan-dae / Minjoo Party floor leader (executive): Deputy Prime Minister Choi Sang-mok, please remove political uncertainty by appointing a constitutional judge, requesting a permanent special prosecutor, and Kim Gun-hee.]

The imminent challenge for acting Choi Sang-mok is whether to veto the Insurrection Special Prosecutor Act and the Special Prosecutor Kim Gun-hee Act.

The Cabinet meeting to be held on the 31st is the Maginot Line, and it is widely expected that the fate of acting Choi Sang-mok will also be determined by what decision is made.
