The People's Power launched an investigation into allegations that the party's contact information was leaked to Myung Tae-kyun, a key figure in Kim Gun-hee's alleged intervention in the party's nomination during the last presidential election.

Secretary-General Seo Bum-soo said at the Supreme Council of Ganghwa-gun, Incheon, that during the presidential election, the membership list was made into safe numbers and distributed to each candidate's election camp, and there was no illegal matter in the process.

However, he explained that he will investigate how the list entered Myung step by step from now on, and that he will take action if strict measures are needed depending on the results.

Earlier, suspicions were raised in the Democratic Party that the Future Korea Research Institute, which is actually operated by Myung, conducted a poll for the next presidential election in October 2021 after obtaining the phone numbers of 568,000 delegates and party members.
