President Yoon "Closes the Digital Gap for Economic Activities of the Vulnerable in Society"

President Yoon Suk Yeol says joint efforts to bridge the digital divide are important for the socially vulnerable to move toward an official and global economy.

In the second session of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit, President Yoon said APEC needs to support innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence to be used to support economic activities of members of society.

He then emphasized that Korea will lead APEC-level efforts to ensure digital accessibility of vulnerable groups and promote digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners.President

Yoon proposed the establishment of the APEC Future Prosperity Fund to support young people's start-ups and economic activities in the APEC region and to promote exchanges in the region.

It also proposed cooperation measures to overcome the climate crisis, such as expanding the introduction of clean carbon-free energy such as hydrogen and nuclear power and expanding the use of smart farm technology.President

Yoon asked for the leaders' interest and support, saying the APEC summit will be held in Gyeongju next year under the theme of 'Sustainable Tomorrow We Create'.

At the conclusion of the two-day APEC summit, President Yoon took over as the next APEC chairman and was presented with the traditional Peruvian baton, Barra Yok.
