The Korea Communications Standards Commission has published a report on the current state of opinion polls and the direction of improvement.

The report carried out a full survey and analysis of the broadcasting programs, citing polls from nine major broadcasters, including terrestrial broadcasters, comprehensive programming channels, and reporting channels, from January 1 to April 9, during the 22nd parliamentary election.

The study found that while broadcasters use and rely heavily on polls, self-order surveys are gradually decreasing as the cost burden increases and poll companies conduct regular self-investigation more frequently.

In addition, some problems such as sub-sample analysis reports and error range interpretation appeared, indicating that improvement was needed through clearer guidelines or educational programs.

The Korea Communications Standards Commission said it will actively use the results of the study to prepare countermeasures such as improving related regulations.
