With Democrats losing the U.S. presidential election last month, seven out of 10 Democratic supporters appear to avoid political news.
According to a survey conducted by The Associated Press with the University of Chicago's Center for Public Opinion Research, 65% said they had recently felt the need to limit political news consumption due to over-information and fatigue.
By political orientation, Democratic supporters were the highest at 72%, followed by independents at 63% and Republicans at 59%.
In addition, 51 percent said they were restricting the consumption of related news about the war in Ukraine and the Middle East, but there was no significant difference by political orientation, with 54 percent for Democrats and 47 percent for Republicans.
When it comes to celebrities such as celebrities speaking on political issues, Democratic supporters outnumbered supporters by 39% to 20%, while Republican supporters outnumbered opponents by 61% to 11%.
The news agency analyzed that it is because there is more support from the Democratic Party in the case of famous celebrities and others.
